BZM Pick - What I Like About Me! by Allia Zobel Nolan

I love this book and I would like to thank Allia Zobel Nolan for the wonderful book. A must have for every kid's library.

Book: What I Like About Me!
Author: Allia Zobel Nolan

Today in our 30 Days 30 Books reading Challenge by The Bubble Ink the theme was I am I, and this was the perfect pick besides 2 more that we read.

Why I picked it and what was my Reaction: One thing I want to instill in Z, besides many others ;-) is that she should be happy of who and what she is. In this day and age where every (kids included) are running after being someone else, its all the more crucial.

The Toddler's take: She loves the picture and the fun on different pages, strand of curly hair on one page, flaps on another, wiggly ears on one and what not. She loves to look at herself and smile when she reaches the last page.

What it is about: It is about celebrating yourself, loving yourself. In today's world it teaches kids how to celebrate being different and being themselves. So whether your hair are staight or curly, you are short or tall, you wear braces or specs... you should be able to love yourself. In the last page there is a mirror (mylar mirror) which lets you look at yourself and smile your brightest smile.

How We Read it: Z goes through the book herself then I read the book as she turns the pages. She doesn't let me touch it.

Our Favorite Line: "We are all different certainly... I'm not like you, you're not like me. That's why we think that life is great. So join us as we celebrate."
Age Group:  3 years+ (if you want the kid to understand the book, younger ones will enjoy it anyways)
