W is for Where the Wild Things Are- #atozchallenge

For me Where the Wild Things are is no less than a masterpiece. written by Maurice Sendack. I read it as a child, and I feel blessed my parents introduced me to such wonderful books. The book shows. just a few words can create magical stories. It tells us a story about a boy call Max, who creates a ruckus after wearing a wolf costume. A jungle suddenly appears in his bedroom... and magic begins. He goes sailing and finds the 'Wild Things' or beasts. He becomes the king of the Wild Things. What Max decides post that?

  2. I'm a newly retired librarian and teacher (33 years in education) and I can say that Sendak's Where the Wild Things Are is a classic! Kids still choose this title as one of their favorites. The movie that was made doesn't compare to this imaginative place beginning in Max's bedroom!

  5. I loved reading this book to my kids and thankfully they were reasonably well spread apart in age, so that I've spent years reading and rereading it out loud. As a writer now, I see the masterful use of simplicity and economy in words in that book and I think it is even greater in my mind now than before.

  8. I loved reading this book to my kids...and I remember reading it when I was young too. It ranks up there with 'Where The Sidewalk Ends' by Shel Silverstien for me.

Great post for W. I linked to your participation in the #AtoZChallenge on my post for W; The Importance of a Website or Blog for Authors.
