Maybe I'm a different kind of mom altogether...

Sorry ... Long Post Ahead... Emotional Outburst.

I have heard a lot of people point fingers at me ... How can you leave your baby alone to play and continue working? How can you let her cry out for sometime? How can you not force feed her when she doesn't eat anything? How can you raise your voice on Z (what if she isn't behaving well)? How can you let your husband attend to Z? Well it is rightly said 'Jitne mooh utni baatien'... it isn't the people who don't matter who tell me ... it really hurts when someone who has known me for ages comes up with these things.

You wanna see what kind of a mom I'm? or do I love Z as much as any other mom would? (dare you ask me). I'm not here trying to prove a point or show off how 'motherly' a mother I'm... If you think I'm not affectionate enough to Z that sure is your problem not mine. Ask Z about her mom, you won't understand half of the things she says... but one thing would be crystal clear... Her mom means the world to her.

  1. Loved the last line. As rightly said, you need not have to prove anything to anyone as YOU know best about Z. Hugs.

  3. I feel we are so similar ZM....Even I had to face the pointed fingers about the same things you mentioned in this post.... I never force feed my kid, I never attend to her crying tantrums and let her cry out, I discipline her when I feel she is crossing limits,My hubby attends my baby almost as much as I do...and I know we three are happy with this arrangement :-)
So jzz IGNORE...same set of ppl would also criticize someone who might be doing opposite to what you are doing...so never mind.

  4. I felt as if I wrote the post. I work partially from home and also study long distance. I have a 2 year old girl. I dont have nannies. So its me and her till the father comes home from office.
As I write this now the kid is playing alone with her books.( Yes she plays with them, more than read). I have gotten her to do that since she was 1 and half. If she sees me with the laptop , she says 'Mummy working' and plays on her own. This goes on for some 15-20 mins only till she requires attention but it does happen.
You absolutely wrote my mind. :) Ignore and stay blissful. We know our kids the best. and when another mom critisizes me about it , I just think she is jealous :P

    1. Sirisha... It sounds similar, coz even I work from home... have no nannies... but I love this arrangement. Zoe is also becoming independent, and my husband has become a pro at handling Z.
